Kategora and Kora Living receive the award for best temporary accommodation strategy at the Living Summit 2025
This recognition highlights their focus on flexibility and marketing, offering tailored solutions for tourists, digital nomads, workers, and students through their Beach, Flex, and Urban lines
The Basque developer, Kategora Real Estate, and its hotel management company, Kora Living, were honored on February 25 with the Best Temporary Accommodation Strategy Award at the prestigious Living Summit 2025, organized by the Shared Real Estate Spaces Association, COWORD.
This recognition, granted by COWORD’s Board of Directors, highlights the company’s efforts in innovation and marketing with its pioneering “One day, one month, one year” strategy. This unique approach provides flexible accommodation solutions for short- and medium-term stays. Through its three divisions—Beach, Flex, and Urban—Kategora and Kora Living have successfully created spaces tailored to different user profiles, from temporary tourists or digital nomads looking for connectivity and community to relocated workers and students in need of versatile, well-located accommodation solutions.

One example is Kora Green City in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the largest Passivhaus-certified accommodation in Europe and one of the most energy-efficient worldwide. This property integrates sustainability and technology into its daily operations, offering stays ranging from a single night to several months. Its multifunctional common areas allow spaces to transform from coworking zones in the morning into social event venues at night. Meanwhile, Kora Nivaria Beach, a seafront resort in Tenerife, responds to the growing demand for accommodations that combine comfort and relaxation with local identity, offering personalized experiences in a privileged natural setting.
The award ceremony took place on February 25 at COAM in Madrid as part of the second edition of the Living Summit, a key event in the flex living sector that gathered leading institutions and companies to analyze the present and future of the industry. During the event, Araceli Martín-Navarro, founder and president of COWORD, and Carolina Roca, president of ASPRIMA and co-president of the Living Summit, emphasized the importance of innovation in accommodation models and Kora Living’s contribution to this field.

Roke Ramos, Operations Director of Kora Living, accepted the award on behalf of the Basque company. During his speech, he highlighted that “this award underscores the commitment and shared vision between Kategora and Kora Living.” He added: “We continue to advocate for an accommodation model that blends flexibility, sustainability, community, and adaptability. Our complexes not only integrate seamlessly into the destinations where we operate but also adapt to new travel trends, offering authentic experiences that connect with the local community.”
The business model of both companies aims to optimize profitability and space utilization while fostering real integration with the destination. From hiring local talent to designing authentic activities and experiences, each project seeks to connect tourists and residents with their surroundings, generating a positive impact on the community.
With a real estate portfolio spanning three countries and valued at over €650 million, Kategora continues to develop sustainable and long-lasting real estate projects, aligned with its mission to invest and leave a legacy. Meanwhile, **Kora Living remains committed to transforming the way people live and travel, elevating each stay through meaningful and conscious experiences.
